Cash might not be authorised as a means of payment were it introduced in today’s environment, some central bankers said on March 13.

According to experts speaking at Central Banking’s Fintech and Regtech summit in London on March 13, the aspects that make cash so appealing in many instances also pose significant risks to the stability of the financial system.
