Argentina’s planned currency devaluation is being hampered by the country’s own monetary base targets and the Federal Reseve’s looser policy, some observers say.

Argentine authorities and the International Monetary Fund are attempting to gradually devalue the peso keeping the currency within an exchange rate band. But the weaker US dollar and the monetary targeting policy is making this hard to achieve. The central bank is also facing a faster-than-expected rise in inflation, official figures
