European auditors ask lawmakers for increased access to ECB documents

ECB has failed to provide sufficient information in three major audits, official body says

The European Union’s official audit body has requested that lawmakers intervene to give it full access to documents setting out how the European Central Bank supervises banks.

The European Court of Auditors wrote an official letter to the European Parliament asking lawmakers “to intervene and ensure the European Central Bank allows full access to documents for audits related to banking supervision”. A spokesman for the Court of Auditors said it had been having talks with the ECB on the issue of
