Former Liberian governor to assist in corruption probe

Government launches investigation into missing banknotes

The former governor of the Central Bank of Liberia has been told not to leave the country as he continues to assist with an investigation into alleged corruption.

In a circular published by the country’s Ministry of Information, both Milton Weeks and Charles Sirleaf, a former deputy governor of the central bank, are identified as ‘people of interest’.
