Bahamas central bank traces website breach to third party

Central bank says no personal data was taken in hack

The Central Bank of the Bahamas has initiated a “comprehensive information security assessment” after its website was hacked on June 28.

“Our investigation, which remains in its preliminary stage, has been able to confirm that the breach occurred with a third-party vendor contracted by the bank to develop and host its website,” a spokesman from the central bank tells Central Banking.
