The Bank of England has found itself in an “uncomfortable” position in signalling its stance ahead of the next monetary policy meeting in May, Kristin Forbes said on April 20.

The former BoE monetary policy committee member acknowledged the need to telegraph a hike in advance when interest rates have been flat for around a decade. But she said the situation changes as the environment returns to a greater degree of normality.
