Slovene governor quits post after receiving death threats

Governor Jazbec says threats come from “bailed-in” bond and shareholders

The governor of Slovenia’s central bank announced on March 20 that he is quitting the role, after receiving death threats he says come from people who lost money from a banking bail-in.

Governor Boštjan Jazbec today (March 22) also accused an adviser to Slovenia’s president of seeking to improperly influence the choice of the central bank’s next governor, saying this was also linked to the “bail-in”.
