Polish central bank uses YouTube comedy to warn of digital currency dangers

Film runs up over 500,000 views, but some local media criticise lack of transparency

Poland’s central bank has acknowledged it has funded an online campaign aimed at warning people of the dangers of digital currency, including a film by an internet comedian.

The National Bank of Poland told Central Banking that, as part of the campaign, it had paid 88,500 zloty (approximately $26,185) to a network of Polish YouTube film-makers called Gamellon.
