The president of Yemen has appointed a new governor to what is effectively one of two central banks operating in the civil war-torn country.

President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi named Mohammed Zammam as governor of the Central Bank of Yemen on February 11, according to locally based reporters. Zammam will run the central bank based in the southern port city of Aden.
