Bahamian banknotes will feature three different substrates

Caribbean nation to issue highest denominations of new series on paper/polymer hybrid

The Central Bank of the Bahamas has chosen three different substrate types for its new series of banknotes, the first of which was released last year.

In a statement published on June 8, Fortress Paper reveals the central bank has chosen to use its Durasafe substrate, which combines both paper and polymer structures in layers, for its two highest denominations ($50 and $100). The substrate is already in use in the Swiss National Bank’s new series.
