EBA calls for reform of its funding and governance

Funding shortfalls are “unreasonable”, Enria says

The chairperson of the European Banking Authority (EBA) has asked for reform of its funding and governance arrangements, saying the way it is currently financed is hampering its work.

EBA chairperson Andrea Enria makes the call in an official response to a consultation by the European Commission (EC) on the three European Supervisory Agencies, or ESAs. Besides the EBA, the ESAs are the European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions
