The Bank of England has informed the public it will continue with the launch of the new £10 on the existing substrate, despite the banknotes containing trace amounts of animal by-product tallow.

In a statement released today (February 15), the central bank published its latest assessment of the issue, announcing it had "weighed the key factors" and undertaken both "detailed internal analysis" and "targeted external engagement" in order to understand concerns raised by the public.
