The governor of the Bank of England faced difficult questions today (November 15), as members of parliament pressed him on issues surrounding his future, Brexit and his counterpart in the US.

Appearing before the Treasury Select Committee today, Mark Carney denied the lack of clarity about his term of office had created uncertainty. There are "far bigger issues in the UK economy and the global economy than my term length", he insisted.
