Bank of England governor Mark Carney dismissed concerns the central bank was becoming embroiled in the politics surrounding the UK's referendum on EU membership today (May 12).

Carney said it was the BoE's "responsibility" to be transparent about how it thought events within its three-year policy horizon would pan out. He said the referendum was the biggest risk for both the financial and monetary policy committees (FPC/MPC).
