The chairman of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) defended his role in the appointment of a new chief executive, after the process was questioned in his appearance before the UK Treasury Select Committee today (April 26).

John Griffith-Jones was criticised by one Member of Parliament, John Mann, after it emerged the next chief executive Andrew Bailey was not interviewed, either alongside or after other candidates.
