EU must ‘contain divergence’ between member states, says Polish central bank head

The European Union will be unable to develop stronger federal institutions unless it prevents economic divergence between member states, the National Bank of Poland president said today (October 16).

Marek Belka spoke on the closing day of the conference ‘Boosting EU competitiveness – the role of the CESEE countries', organised by the Polish and Austrian central banks.
