The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's (RBNZ) ability to anticipate risks has improved with the introduction of a new enterprise risk management framework, according to deputy governor Geoff Bascand.

Bascand, who is responsible for operations, spoke to Central Banking on the sidelines of the National Asset-Liability Management conference earlier this month.

"I would say we are a lot more aware and alert to risks… we are certainly anticipating them, thinking about where they may arise," he said.
