Norway c bank chief sees closer U.S.-Norway ties

In a speech made this week Svein Gjedrem said Nordic countries and the US have long historic ties and that these ties would grow closer, helped by Norway's investments of surplus oil cash abroad.

Norway's central bank governor Svein Gjedrem said "While the U.S. economy has always been an important trading partner, our investments abroad and the globalisation of the financial system will further increase our interest in the United States economy in the years ahead".
