People: Trump nominates Shelton and Waller to Fed posts

Judy Shelton and Christopher Waller nominated as Fed governors; further appointments in Nigeria and at the BIS

US: President Donald Trump has put forward the names of Judy Shelton and Christopher Waller to fill vacant seats on the Federal Reserve’s board.

Shelton is widely seen as a controversial choice, as a backer of a return to the gold standard and a critic of Federal Reserve policy.

Most recently, she was the US executive director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. She began her career at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Portland
