Opposition politicians criticise Glapiński over rising inflation and claims of bias

Poland’s president has nominated Adam Glapiński for a second term as the country’s central bank governor, despite growing criticism of him by opposition politicians.  

Andrzej Duda announced on January 29 that he was putting Glapiński forward for a second six-year term leading the National Bank of Poland. Glapiński will only be able to serve a second term if he is confirmed by the lower house of parliament.

It is not clear whether Glapiński, who has come under severe criticism from opposition
