Governor says country’s lawmakers should approve MPC nominees soon

The Central Bank of Nigeria has postponed a second consecutive meeting of its monetary policy meeting after the country’s lawmakers continued their refusal to confirm new members of the monetary policy committee (MPC).

But the CBN told local media key lawmakers have assured it they will end their refusal to confirm new members of the monetary policy committee, adding that the MPC should be able to meet before the end of the month.

The central bank was due to hold its next MPC meeting today
