Ireland: Former financial stability chief and ex-governor clash over crisis

Frank Browne, the former head of the Central Bank of Ireland's monetary policy and financial stability department, has accused the bank's former governor and his senior management team of ignoring and then "suppressing" evidence of an impending financial crisis.

John Hurley, who served as governor between 2002 and 2009, has firmly denied the allegations in a written response, frequently calling into question the accuracy of Browne's account.
