Emerging markets must rethink exchange rate strategy: Thailand's Trairatvorakul

Prasarn Trairatvorakul, the governor of the Bank of Thailand, on 15 October said the rising tide of capital inflows into emerging market countries may require policymakers to rethink their exchange rate mechanisms.

At the Bank of Thailand International Symposium 2010 in Bangkok, Trairatvorakul said: "As the world begins to recover from the global financial crisis, a new stage of globalisation has emerged and brought along a transformation of the economic and financial landscape."
