SNB reveals launch date for delayed banknote series
Roll-out of ninth banknote series to begin next year
The Swiss National Bank (SNB) revealed today (August 14) that its long-awaited new series of banknotes will be rolled out from April 2016.
The first note in the central bank's ninth series will be the Sfr50 denomination. The Sfr20 note will follow in 2017, and the remaining four denominations – Sfr10, Sfr100, Sfr200 and Sfr1000 – will be issued at intervals of six months to one year. The whole process will not be completed until 2019.
