Trichet on ESRB mandate
Jean-Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank and current chair of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), on Monday discussed his vision for the new macroprudential supervisor.
At the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament in Brussels Trichet said the ESRB, as an independent EU body, would be responsible for the "macroprudential oversight of the financial system within the [European] Union".
Trichet stressed three important aspects of the ESRB
