ECB’s Trichet: voices opinion on fiscal goals in Europe
In an interview with Portugal's Expresso newspaper on Saturday, Jean-Claude Trichet, the president of the European Central Bank, said eurozone countries must tighten fiscal spending to regain confidence in markets.
"Governments should be aware of the fact that if they do not do what is necessary to be credible in having a sustainable fiscal position in the medium term, they will not create confidence," Trichet said. "If they do not create confidence in their capacity to run sustainable fiscal
