Much more to be achieved in regulation: Trichet

While supervisory and regulatory reform has progressed since the crisis, much more needs to be done to enhance the resilience of European and global financial systems, said Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank (ECB).

He said priorities for the legislators would include strengthening the prudential framework, addressing the risk posed by systemically important financial institutions, and setting a framework for macro-prudential supervision.
