Reducing regulatory arbitrage key challenge: RBI’s Thorat

Minimising regulatory and tax arbitrage will continue to be a huge challenge, said Usha Thorat, a deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

Thorat said several countercyclical proposals were dependent on the assessment of economic and banking conditions in national jurisdictions which would determine the capital buffer requirements. She said these would vary from one jurisdiction to another as cycles would also vary.
