Philippines' Tetangco praises microfinance

Microfinance is no longer a "mere buzzword" but part of the financial mainstream, said Amando Tetangco, the governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines.

Speaking at a microfinance conference, Tetangco said, that with 229 banks active in the sector, microfinance has now a firm track record across Philippines for nurturing successful microentrepreneurs.
