Spanish economist urges IMF to complete its ‘metamorphosis’

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) began a process of "metamorphosis" in the wake of the financial crisis, but is yet to "spread its wings", according to an economic study published by the Bank of Spain today.

In The Metamorphosis of the IMF (2009-2011), Pablo Moreno says the IMF has introduced "very substantial changes" in its governance structures, institutional culture, surveillance and lending policies.
