Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook Survey, May 2007

According to the firms surveyed for the Philadelphia Fed's May 2007 Business Outlook Survey, activity in the region's manufacturing sector improved slightly in May.

The current activity index increased from 0.2 to 4.2. In responses to the special questions, about 32 percent reported that current demand is greater than what was expected at the beginning of the year.

Philadelphia Federal Reserve Senior Economic Analyst Mike Trebing summarized the survey:

"Activity in the region's manufacturing sector
