EU watchdog enquires into Draghi’s membership of G30

NGO accuses ECB of being too close to financial industry

The official ethics watchdog of the European Union has opened an inquiry into Mario Draghi's membership of the Group of 30, a discussion group for senior bankers and economists.

The inquiry by the European Ombudsman comes after a complaint from a non-governmental organisation (NGO) called the "Corporate Europe Observatory".
