Zhou Xiaochuan to stay on as governor of PBoC, says Reuters

The governor of the People's Bank of China (PBoC), Zhou Xiaochuan, may continue in his role well past his current mandatory retirement age, according to a report by news agency Reuters.

Zhou, who was not named as part of the Communist Party's 205-strong Central Committee, was expected to leave the central bank before the end of March, having reached retirement age of 65 in January.

But the Reuters report cited two unidentified Communist Party leaders saying that – barring last-minute changes –
