Board chair praises Swiss central banker for leadership in crises and record of change

The Swiss National Bank’s (SNB) head Thomas Jordan announced he will step down from his role at the end of September. 

As chairman of the SNB’s three-member governing board, Jordan has effectively been the central bank’s governor since early 2012. The SNB praised Jordan’s leadership in a statement today (March 1), saying it had “coincided with a period characterised by an unusually large number of challenges”.
