Malaysia reappoints Zeti as governor

Zeti Akhtar Aziz was on Wednesday reappointed for another five-year term as governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.

Zeti was appointed governor of the central bank in May 2000, during which time she has overseen the transformation of the Malaysian financial system into the well-regarded and resilient industry it is today.

She has spearheaded the development of Islamic finance, domestically and globally, having chaired the steering committee for the establishment of the Islamic Financial Services Board
