Japanese economist expects to head OECD

Japan's candidate for chief of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development said on Tuesday 4 October that she is confident she will be chosen for the post.

"The responses to my appeal were good," World Bank economist Sawako Takeuchi said at a news conference after meeting with representatives from OECD member countries on Monday and Tuesday.
