Bank of England leaves interest rates unchanged

UK - The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has left UK interest rates unchanged for the second month in a row. The committee concluded their two day meeting on 5 July. The Bank's base rate remains at 5.25%.

There had been some speculation that slowing growth in the United States and the eurozone might have prompted the Bank into a small rate cut.

But recent UK data indicated that the British economy was performing relatively robustly.
