Press releases outnumber officials’ public appearances

Statistical bulletins also rank as most published document annually

Central banks issued more press statements than the number of public appearances made by senior officials in the past year, the Communications Benchmarks 2024 shows.

The average number of senior officials’ public appearances is 74.3. But on average, communications departments produced 186.3 press releases. While appearances range from 400 to just two, press releases range from 2,065 to three.
