Central Bank of Bahrain governor celebrates Binance launch

Expansion into gulf state comes as other crypto exchanges cut their workforces

The Central Bank of Bahrain has publicly endorsed the launch of Binance in the region, as the country aspires to become a global crypto and blockchain hub. 

After Binance was granted a “category 4” crypto asset exchange licence last year, users can now access a wide range of the firm’s crypto products and services using local currencies. Binance was the first recipient of a crypto licence in the gulf.
