EC should conduct ‘comprehensive’ crypto analysis, says EBA

Regulator says crypto assets fall outside the scope of current EU financial services regulation

The European Banking Authority has advised the European Commission to undertake a “comprehensive” analysis of crypto assets to understand whether any “action” is required at the EU level.

The verdict, issued as part of an EBA report on crypto assets, is the latest to be published following the emergence of the assets over a decade ago.
