Hong Kong issues world’s first multi-currency digital bond

Digital green bonds available in US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, euros and yuan

The Hong Kong government launched the world’s first multi-currency digital bond on February 7. 

The HK$6 billion (US$767 million) of green bonds are available in US and Hong Kong dollars, euros and yuan. The bonds are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and will be processed on the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) clearing and settlement system, with links to Euroclear and Clearstream in the US.
