Argentina applying to join New Development Bank

China renews 130 billion yuan swap line with Latin American country

The New Development Bank will consider Argentina’s application to become its newest member, according to reports.

A delegation including economy minister Sergio Massa and central bank governor Miguel Pesce met with New Development Bank president Dilma Rousseff on June 1. Rousseff said Argentina’s application could get a decision in August, according to news agency Telam. Argentina would have to put up $250 million in capital.
