Bank of Mexico holds rates again

Board says rates will remain at current level “for an extended period”

The Bank of Mexico’s (Banxico) governing board voted unanimously to leave its policy rate unchanged after its monetary policy meeting on June 22.

This is the second consecutive meeting in which officials decided to maintain the policy rate at 11.25%. In its policy statement, the board said: “The disinflationary process is underway given that diverse pressures have eased.”
