People: Former BoC governor Poloz joins board of energy firm

Canada: Former Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz has been appointed to the board of one of the country’s largest energy infrastructure companies.

Tiff Macklem, the Bank of Canada’s senior deputy governor under Mark Carney, replaced Poloz on June 2. Just over a week after he stepped down from the central bank, Poloz joined Enbridge.

The company moves nearly two-thirds of Canada’s crude oil exports to the US. The firm also transports 20% of natural gas consumed in the US.
