NGFS has ‘momentum’, but faces obstacles – Després

Lack of data and frameworks hamper climate mitigation, says Banque de France official

The work of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) is gaining traction in the central banking community, but still faces major obstacles, a senior central banker said today (June 15).

Morgan Després, director of strategy at the Banque de France, told Central Banking’s Summer Meetings that central banks have increasingly embraced the fight against climate change. However, a lack of data and common disclosure frameworks are hampering central banks’ climate change work.

Després said
