Decision-makers at the Federal Reserve shared diverging viewpoints on monetary policy and the economic outlook in recent speeches. Some said additional rate increases will be necessary to quickly bring inflation lower, while others feel the central bank has done enough.

Prominent Fed figures agreed that tight monetary policy could – but not necessarily would – spark a recession.
