HKMA launches Instagram account

Hong Kong Monetary Authority aims to “engage with younger generation”

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority launched its official Instagram account on September 10, becoming the latest central bank to use the social media platform when communicating with the public.

The channel will help Hong Kong’s de facto central bank strengthen communications with the public, especially with the younger generation, the HKMA says.

The HKMA tells Central Banking it plans to feature “light-hearted photos, videos and animations. The new Instagram channel will help the HKMA better
