Sama’s Almubarak praises resilient banking system

Governor says monetary policy has buttressed economy

Fahad Almubarak, the governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (Sama), has said the central bank has contributed to the success of the Saudi banking system, which has remained resilient through tough times.

In a speech to mark the 84th Saudi National Day on September 23, Almubarak said Sama's "balanced monetary policy" had contributed to strengthening the economy "during stages of global stress and turbulence".

He pointed to a range of indicators that showed the banking sector was resilient
