Working paper suggests food inflation will continue to outpace non-food inflation

India's inflation dynamics will likely "continue to be shaped" by the trend in relative food prices in the country, according to a working paper published by the International Monetary Fund on January 5.

In Understanding India's food inflation: the role of demand and supply factors, Rahul Anand, Naresh Kumar, and Volodymyr Tulin find growth in food prices has outstripped non-food prices by about 3.5% since 2006/07.
