Strong policy responses shorten crises
Strong policy responses have a marked impact on the duration of crises, a new study from the International Monetary Fund posits.
The research shows that a strong policy response - such as undertaking fiscal adjustment, avoiding large exchange rate devaluations in the midst of the crisis, and raising interest rates - shortens the length of a crisis.
